Cubs

About Cubs

Cub Scouts is open to both boys and girls, aged 8 to 10 ½.

Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging, with plenty of time spent outdoor taking part in fun and adventurous games and activities.

Camps and pack holidays are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs.

Joining the section

Before becoming a fully fledged 3rd Edgware Cub Scout, we invite new Cubs to attend a few trial weeks, so they can decide if Cub Scouts is right for them.

If they decide to join, Cubs will be invested into 3rd Edgware by taking part in an investiture ceremony where they will recite the Cub Scout Law and Promise in front of the rest of the pack.

Uniform

The Cub uniform consists of the official Cubs sweatshirt, long navy trousers (NOT jeans) and dark coloured trainers. When Cubs receive badges, these should be sewn onto the jumper. Download the badge placement diagram.

Badges

At Cubs we will often work towards badges together. There are all different kinds of badges which means you will never be bored! Cubs can also work on badges at home in their own time. Cubs should aim to achieve their Chief Scout Silver Award, which is the highest award they can earn. Find all the badges and specifications here.

Camping

We aim to go camping twice a year, one indoor camp during the winter months and one outdoor camp during the summer.

Camping is optional, but it is great fun and Cubs will often get to do activities they have never done before.
